I think Sears makes 1/2 their money selling service
Not from me they don't.

In fact, you can't buy anything there without
16 follow up calls about service contracts.
WUWT???

Everybodt tries that. They give you basic warranty coverage for one year. Usually that's about 1/5 to 1/10 of the expected life. Then they try to sell you extended coverage about to about year 3- -when the product is still most likely going strong.
And they pocket your cash for service you never needed.
Good business. No wonder they try so hard to sell those things.

We've actually had some good luck with Kenmore products.
Just replaced 21 year old washer and drier.
They still worked.

D**N! Why didn't you tell me this before?
We recently replaced a GE wash/dryer set. Dead after 6 years.
Unfortunately we weren't willing to camp out in a Sears store for a week waiting for a salesperson to finish their coffee break and sell us something.
