CREE doesn't sell any red LED's. I have no idea where they got market share numbers or if they are accurate. However, I have to assume that red is a fairly large % of the total market, maybe 40%? What I am getting at is that the article is a superficial look at the company, and it's easy to cite numbers that "prove" anything you may want to prove. Without knowing a whole lot more about the specifics of the LED market, that market share # is probably useless in telling you anything about CREEs' prospects.
I did notice that the words "capacity constrained" or "95% booked for the next quarter" were conspicuously absent from the article. Is $10 a fair price? $20? $30? Who knows. Right now the market is saying $18, so right now I guess $18 is a fair price.
