If your father-in-law is an American, then I am saying he needs to get to work to fix our problem. I am not talking of paying money. That will repair nothing. I am talking about a change of philosophy and a change of policy that reflects that philosophy. Real repair will only take place when blacks see themselves progressing of their own potency. The problem is, only until recently America has both officially and unofficially worked to thwart this group at every turn. We need to work, all of us, to never allow that to happen again. We also need to encourage blacks to try once again. Many young blacks are now starting to make another go of it. Their efforts are tenuous, but they are certainly trying. Imagine the pressure against them should Trent Lott and the like make asinine statements without challenge. How in the dang world can these young blacks continue to support the conservative agenda when racist conservatives are slapping them in the dang face and when other conservatives are saying "its no big deal." It is a big dang deal.
