Art Hanger is never going to get elected in Baie Comeau.
The Canadian Alliance Party has made a series of gaffes which will not be overlooked by the Canadian public. The worst move the CAP ever made was electing Stockwell Day as their leader. For any readers who aren't familiar with Mr. Day and his view of the world, a little history might clarify things. While Mr. Day was in the Alberta Government he wrote a letter to his local newspaper libeling a lawyer, he attacked the lawyer for defending a pedophile. Mr. Day implied in his letter that the lawyer was just as bad as the despicable criminal he was defending. The judgement against Day was $790,000.
It was after this incident Mr. Day was elected to head up the Canadian Alliance Party. Though he has since been turfed as leader, he is still serving in the party.

The BBC makes these comments about Mr. Day " He has said there is scientific proof that the world is about 6,000-years-old and that early man co-existed with dinosaurs."

Canada has ratified Kyoto, the government made the Kyoto vote a confidence vote. Mr. Chretien announced that he has no intention of stepping down prior to February 2004.
