Engineer: <<<<<<In case you were sleeping in my prior posts, the uptake on data offerings is limited by the need for the carrier to control the content, figure a way to charge you for each and every data content action, and to limit your use of data in any other application, then whine that they don;t have data uptake and user minutes. Open the pipe and let it happen. Sell to the high volume applications out there. Automatic meter reading in all cities is a great application that can pay for the entire DO rollout in less than 18 months. High volume data offline, off peak.>>>>

Yes I had until yesterday practically quit reading SI. So if its not too much can you indulge my confusion as to why you think current wireless data are lacking when it sounds like its the apps you want. How many ISP's are profitable. MSN? no way, a piss hole for money. Thats after they spent the last year passporting the living shit out of me and every DSL dumbfick. ATTBI fat pipes? ya sure maybe next century. You seem to advocate highly segmented market apps & risky phone launches. Imagine if they took your advice and brought out 100 first gen color phones and clogged their channels only to find out the battery life sucks and you can't see the nipples on your girlfriends self portrait. I want a better color phone too, with screens that rival the Casio portable TV's. Are they available elsewhere? As for the apps like meter reading. Are you proposing they become a software company too. Where's all the MS apps to go with MSNDSL.
