S2, I knew guys in 1968 who worked in Psychological Operations (PSYOPS)in Saigon. The Army has been doing this kind of disinformation and psychological warfare for years. The work would horrify most people...., having said that, it does belong as part of an an overall military strategy and should be a very targetted and focused operation. To have someone like Rumsfeld running a separate operation of this kind is bizarre...it sounds like the looney idea he had of directly running a Special Ops Group. The military really does know what they are doing ... AND...there has to be balance in the system. The last thing we need is a military operation run separately by the Administration without any checks and balances fundamental to a democracy.
