You must mean "Brazilian bust is here," elmat, because there is no bust in the US. On the contrary, in the US we have:
1. Slow recovery from mild recession.
2. Very moderate unemployment - the lowest level of unemployment (~6%) at this point in the economic cycle for a very long time.
3. Robust increases in real incomes.
4. Negligible inflation.
5. High productivity.

Within the big picture, the telecomm & high tech sector is suffering badly, and laid-off workers in this sector could be forgiven for feeling that the US economy is in a bust, but the plain fact is that it is not.

As to what you should do - I for one would not take Jay's side of the wager offered to him for an all expenses-paid South Pacific vacation that the DOW will be lower at year-end 2003 than at year-end 2002.
