SAMSUNG SETS UP JV IN INDONESIA TO MAKE COLOUR TV SETS JAKARTA - Samsung Electronics of South Korea has set up a joint venture company with a local partner to produce colour television sets, the Merdeka daily reported. Samsung holds 70 percent of the venture while PT Metrodata Electronics owns the balance. The President Director of PT Samsung Metrodata Electronics (SME), Mr Soon Young Kwon, said here yesterday that Indonesia represents a good market for Samsung products, particularly colour TV sets, because of its vast population.
