Partly due to lower revenue coming in and partly due to the tax cut.

The vast majority of it was due to lower then expected revenue comming in. As you posted most of the tax cut doesn't kick in for years. As far as spending increases, non-military spending has increased more then military spending and considering the circumstnaces it was a good idea to increase military spending.

Well, then elected Reps are exaggerating.

Perhaps but I haven't seen any of them say that Lott is obviously a full blown racist.

Germany has not become pacifist

Not all of it but it has really swung in that direction.

You really think he influences the making of laws? Maybe in Chicago where he is based but not on the national level.

He influences the conversation/politics about race in this country which helps determine what laws will pass. If you just want to say that he has less power then Lott I will agree.

Accusations of racial bias fade away when they send the check.

I don't know what this means.

Groups he runs have shook down business for cash. They let it be known that they are looking in to accusations of racism or racial bias or whatever, but when the company makes a donation nothing ever comes of the investigation.

First, its been my personal experience that Reps. are more focused on race than others.

My personal experience has been exactly the opposite. The Democrats want to talk about race and racism. The Republicans talk about treating people as people rather then as members of a race.
