Hey, I'm not the one putting 300,000 troops in the Persian Gulf in order to secure my re-election. What do I care? It's not on my conscience.
People who joined the military joined knowing full well they could be sent to die in a political war ordered by their commander in chief.

This will also free up Al-Queda folks to create some ruckus.

Meanwhile, North Korea keeps up work on their nuclear program.

Saddam is no good, and his people would be better off without him. However, the way the US is going about this could possibly de-stabilize the region for decades to come, make the divide between the east and west even wider, and give radical islam a greater boost in the region.

Well, I can agree to a large degree with your comment.
The US is basically playing a risky game to determine the best approach. Must be a lot of tough decisions. I guess they are thinking that goverment support for militants will be less by getting rid of Saddam. Probably calculating that it is better to get anti-US sentiment to an extreme now instead of a few years from now. At least this way, they have time to heal some wounds before more nations get nuclear capabilities. Even though I did not like a lot of Bush's policies-----on this issue I think they are thinking long long term and that has surprised me.
