Found this on Panama's website.

Also, the government is promoting tourism investment, while the mining sector is headed for a boom.

Five years ago, there were 20 mining projects in Panama. Now there are 120 or more. Richard Fifer, president of
Panama's mining chamber, calculates Panama has 2 billion tons of proven copper reserves. The Chamber is
working with the government to reform the nation's mining code to facilitate exploration and development.

Meanwhile, three Canadian companies are working on gold and copper mines. Tiomin Resources plans to mine the
world's 12th largest copper deposit, a $150 million project in Cerro Colorado; Adrian Resources and Inmet
Mining are completing feasibility studies of the proposed $800 million Petaquilla copper/gold mine; and Campbell
Resources is studying the Cerro Quema mine, which it says will likely be a $28 million project to extract 350,000
ounces of gold.

Companies that begin mining operations before February 1998 will benefit from a 20% income tax reduction and
tax-free imports and exports.

I wonder if TIO can get the mine started to take advantage of the incentive.
