Comments from a very liberal (even if a somewhat unconventional one) poster on another thread about Lott. First off, read my post to D. Ray. To some extent, I too feel sorry for him. I don't think he was thinking very carefully about what he was saying. However, I also think that's pretty standard with him..........he doesn't see how offensive his position is. The result had been several negative episodes in his career. Secondly, I could forgive his comments at the Thurmond bash if there wasn't a history behind it. The man has pushed on racist issues for years now. This turns out not to be news. And he's not what we need in this world. Having said that, politically, its in the best interest of the Dems. if he stays as Majority Leader. ted
