You know I was thinking about this the other day.
During the last recession in 90-91, sales of minicomputers and mainframes slowed down drastically. Companies that depended on them were devastated. Meanwhile the one thing that kept going up was the number of households with a PC..

I've been looking for stuff with a similar growth rate in terms of adoption; it really seems like it could be broadband. In 1998 when I got my DSL line there were like 2M US households w/ BB. I just read there are now ~20M.

Could this be the next Big Thing?
Comments? Yes I know its taking a lot longer than we thought it would back in 1999, but it is happening.
