"Allah" is the Arabic word for "God", Darren. I told you this quite a few times, and frankly, cannot understand why you keep thinking it is a different deity.
Proof: The "Allah" in the Quran is the same god who also "sent" Moses and Jesus Christ, both of whom are mentioned in Quran. Allah "covers" both quite extensively in Quran. (It is believed to be written in its entirety by Allah, since Mohammad could not read or write, and "sent down" page by page.)
This "logical proof" you have posted bastardizes a much more elegant argument against the existence of God (ANY God) believed to have the following qualities: Omniscient, Omnipotent, Benevolent.
Note that these are in fact the attributes of God as stated in Christianity. In the Muslim religion, there are much more - "Forgiving", etc. The writer of these thoughts that you have posted is obviously refuting belief in the Christian God, limiting the attributes to those of the Christian faith.
Anyway, a long time ago, philosophers have shown that God, even if he exists, can be two of these three attributes, but not all three - Perhaps knowing all and able to do all, but not benevolent. Or perhaps benevolent but does not know what is going on or cannot do anything about it. It is contradictory to believe in the greatest of powers who knows all, can do anything, and is benevolent, given the pain and suffering in the world, they said. |
