But your statement ("it makes sense to make racial diversity a factor in hiring") was about hiring practices in general, not about specific instances where a person of color might be good for business.

How does it make sense for me to "make racial diversity a factor in hiring" if I want to fill a machinist's position? How does it make sense for me to "make racial diversity a factor in hiring" if I want to fill a telemarketer's position? How does it make sense for me to "make racial diversity a factor in hiring" if I want to fill a chemist's position? Or a clerk's position? Or a tax attorney's position? A doctor's position? A truck driver's position?

Face it, your argument is centered on public relations, not worker productivity or revenue enhancement. And PR is PC - which is the problem.
