I did not say it was mandatory, nor did I specify context. I might do it because I want to cure racial tension, and therefore promote workplace integration. As long as the person hired is qualified, there is nothing wrong with that. As for the PR, the fact is that if it helps increase my customer base, or ensures its loyalty, it is a smart business decision. My wife raises a lot of money from corporations interested in public relations opportunities with the members of the professional association she works for, because it increases or defends market share for them to sponsor association activities, much as corporations sponsor programs on PBS.......
