Ted Re...D. Ray blamed Clinton for OBL because he didn't arrest him when he had the chance. I said that the reason OBL is after us in the first place is because Bush Sr. staged his Iraq war on Saudi soil. In OBL's mind, Bush despoiled the holy land<<<<<
I know what the argument is. I asked if you felt that OBL was correct in that we shouldn't have gone on SA land to defend it. And you said "NO". If you feel that way, then why not put the blame where you feel it belongs; upon OBL head for his crazy ideas. What difference does it make what David says. If you feel that OBL is wrong, then why say Bush SR made a big mistake going into SA to defend it. Bush just did what he had to do.
My point...........if you all expected Clinton to be clairvoyant and know that OBL was going to trash the WTC
In the first place, OBL, with the help of Iraq, and one of his clerics had already tried to bomb the WTC in 93. It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to believe OBL would try again. Secondly, David didn't say Bill should have known OBL would destroy the towers. He did say that Bill certainly knew at that time that OBL and his Al Qaeda group were plotting terrorist acts against us and other countries. That is the reason the US wanted him out of Sudan in the first place.
Bush's transgression started the whole chain of events leading to 9/11 in the first place
You just got done posting that you thought OBL was wrong here, yet here you are three paragraphs later posting you think Bush was wrong. Which is it.
Before you respond back......I think both accusations are ridiculous, and I think OBL is crazy and his complaint absurd.
Then why not formulate your answers with that in mind. What on earth is so important that you would compromise your principles, just to win an argument with David, or thrash GW. Hasn't GW given you enough opportunities to thrash him, without you making things up. Certainly David isn't the genius you make him out to be, that you have to willfully lie just to win an argument.
My theory was that if you take out Saddam and Bagdad, you end the war.
Well, with theories like that, it is easy to see why you don't understand Iraq is a target in our war on terrorism. Saddam and Bagdad never were the targets in the Gulf war; just as OBL and his top lieutenants aren't the only targets we have now in our war . In fact, we were forbidden by the alliance to do anything other than destroy the Iraqi army and free Kuwait. Secondly, what makes you think Saddam would have just waited in his bunker in Bagdad. Why wouldn't he have just gotten in a car and drove to safety somewhere else.. Thirdly, you are much better off if the war is fought on the enemies land. If we would have came from the Turkey side, and drove the Army into Kuwait or SA in order to destroy the army, then a lot of Kuwait or SA could have been destroyed, including the oilfields. And think about it, with Iraq's, Kuwaits and SA oilfields out of production, there would have been a huge shortage of oil in the world markets. And yet somehow, you feel it would have been worth it just so a nut case like OBL wouldn't have a reason to attack us. Get real. OBL would have found another reason, he is by your own words crazy, remember.
Because OBL is a religious fundamentalists and all of us are evil infidels and need to be killed. I am not a fan of OBL.
And it isn't just OBL who thinks that. It is the main driving force behind the religious clerics and Khomeni's teachings. That is why we never will win the war on terrorism, until we get rid off the clerics and gov. who back those clerics or terrorism as a means to an end. Saddam has made no secret of his support for terrorists, especially ones attacking Israel. There can be no peace between Israel and Palestine until the terrorism stops; therefore Saddam must be stopped, as he is one of the main reasons for the terrorism. |
