So you see, I am not incorrect in saying that there could be a POW issue.

Zonder.. I was not arguing that there are "conventions" and treaties dealing with POW status, as well as "rules of war" (as if that isn't a contradictory phrase in itself).

But none of these international agreements (they are not "laws") are enforced by an internationally recognized penal code. IOW, breaking the "law" has few repercussions, just as adherence to the "law" is voluntary...

Please. You know the present situation is a wee bit different than a bank robbery <g> Besides, the Geneva Convention does not apply to petty crimes.

I do??? What about Patty Hearst and the Sybionese Liberation Army?? What about the numberous bank robberies committed by the white supremist group, "The Order", who declared war on the US??

They were treated as common criminals, not as POWs..

My point is Zonder, that were the US to suffer another 9/11 style attack, or even worse.. a biological, chemical, or nuclear, attack... I can almost guarantee you that those international treaties will be thrown in the basement until such a time when global order has been restored..

Again.. civilization is not instinctive.. It only thinly masks the brutality that we all can easily regress to in a fight for survival.
