hink the major thrust of Dan's argument is not whether they had the capability or not, but the unlikelihood of their using it on the US, or using nukes, or assassinating Bush Sr.

What argument? The guy made an assertion that was out and out wrong, verifiably. Aside from the fact that had he been paying attention he would have heard the principals in the Gulf War repeat it over and over again.

The American leadership has repeatedly stated that they believe the reason Saddam didn't use WMD in Gulf War was that President Bush had specifically PLACED NUKES ON THE TABLE.

Now, you can argue whether Bush, Powell, Cheney, Schwartzkopf, and Baker were correct or not (I think these people may have a little more credibility than you or Dan3<g>). But the fact that they have all said these things is a matter of public record and is, simply, inarguable.
