One of those interesting stories that has different themes.

What's the world coming to when you can go to war, return home safely and then be shot by some scumbag?

Thank goodness, he had a gun and could defend himself.

Then there's questions...I don't think many people have any questions on the article. But....

I'm visualizing the crime as described in the article.

1. Good guy in Surburban at drive-in
2. Bad guy approaches good guy
3. Bad guy...I'm taking your car, a$$hole. Get out. [It's a good assumption that the bad guy must be holding a gun at this moment]
4. Good guy gets out of vehicle. [Smart move.]
5. Bad guy shoots good guy in left cheek, which lodges near voice box.
[This confuses me. The good guy is out of the vehicle, the bad guy is out of the vehicle. What are the positions of the bodies, the gun, etc. that allows the bullet to enter the left cheek and lodge near the voice box? Is the bad guy holding the gun way above the head of the good guy and shooting down? Even if the good guy is sitting in the Surburban, it would be tough to get an angle that would enter the left cheek and lodge near the voice box. Confusing, but let's ignore it.]
6. Good guy, gets back in car and retrieves gun.
7. What is the bad guy doing at this point? He has a gun; he's shot the good guy once already. Has he paused to order a burger and coke? Practicing his golf swing? Perhaps he's a sportsman and wishes to give his target an even chance? Not sure, we'll ignore this.
8. Good guy shoots bad guy; bad guy dies. We all cheer.

I sense something is missing from the story.

----

I'm reminded of a story where a woman dials 911 and reports her husband has committed suicide. The ambulance and police arrive. She points them to the bedroom. There he lies, in bed, undressed, sheet/blanket pulled up to the neck with 6 buttets in the chest. Does this story raise any questions?
