Here is the reply from my assemblyman regarding the budget shortfall in CA

Dear Mr. Langston,
 
Thank you for your recent email.  Please know that I, along with my Assembly Republican colleagues, intend to do just what you suggested--hold out for an Assembly Constitutional Amendment that would limit spending.  I am eager to begin the new legislative session on January 6th.  We nned to put a lid on attempts at new and higher taxes and start making cuts to our bloated state budget.
