Don't know which gap you are speaking of, so I'll mention both.

JBIL closed on 6-17 at approx. $30, opened 6-18 approx. $37 after they announced great earnings that were to continue into the next year.

SGI closed 7-24 at $19 7/16, opened today at 25 7/8 after surprisingly good earnings report.

That creates a gap in the chart. Gaps are always supposed to be "filled" in the future. Usually this is so and creates a worry/opportunity to investors. Sometimes the rules are broken, and the company just moves to another level.

These earnings surprises usually gives analysts an opportunity to up their ratings on the stock. Then more folks buy the stock.

I think all those who are busy today and will use the weekend to make decisions about what to buy will provide an updraft on Monday.

Go SGI!
