IMO, it is not fruitful and slightly disingenuous to keep claiming that Clinton's remark's were not stupidly insensitive and don't compare to Lott's . The IRA and Orange Militias are composed of the Irish. The context and setting of those remarks was important. Clinton could have used a hundred different analogies....it was simply a poor choice of words, no worse than Lott's choice of words in trying to make a 100 year old man feel good at a b-day party but no better either. Clearly some persons of Irish descent were offended. End of story.
