Well, the original argument was the comparison with Lott. However, with each cavalier dismissal of Clinton's ethnic slur, the debate morphed into whether it was an offense at all. Now that point has been proved and we're back to where this began.

Both were slurs. One came from a President, one from a Senator. One insulted 36 million blacks, the other insulted 6 million Irish and 70 million Irish Americans.
