Bob: I think you hit the nail on the head with the types of businesses they'd be looking to integrate: "other business apps like accounting, ERP, etc"

Now, whether or not that strategy will be successful is unknown.

Because of the number and strength of the huge players in the CRM market, I seriously doubt that FSTW will *ever* be a big player on their own.

I agree with what you said about it being difficult to find any acquisitions in those areas. They'd have to be struggling startups for FSTW to be able to entice them to join up. (Personally, I think we can also add "drowning has-beens" to the list of potential acquisitions.)

RTB is convinced that their new .NET product is super-duper, and is "disruptive technology". If that's true, then it would seem likely that all potential acquisition companies should recognize the extremely bright future possible with FSTW and be standing in line to join up.

But, I'm not nearly as enthusiastic about their chances to "disrupt" the current market with their new technology as RTB is.

Years ago when there were fewer competitors and technology hadn't advanced very far, new whiz-bang "bleeding edge" technological advances could make or break a company.

Today, it's not "what's new ???". It's "how soon will you be up on what's new???".

Brings a whole new meaning to "What have you done for me lately?".

Regards,
