"This nation is the success it is because we have learned from and utilized our diversity or melting pot components...it has strengthened not weakened us..."
Sorry, but this is a gross delusion to say the least. Be a typical American not so hopelessly brainwashed and intoxicated by mis- and disinformation, he/she could try to start his/her enlightenment about your "successes" throughout 20th century by looking, for example, on so eloquent real history of the 2nd world war.. on why and how and by whom it was set up; on fabulous prosperity that it brought to U.S. situated far from the carnage; on horrendous destruction of all U.S. competitors, the Europe and especially USSR, that it caused; on the real truth of the dirty cold war of de-stabilization, sabotage, etc. against the devastated and gravely wounded nation; on the looting of the world and even friendly countries (i.e. England) with the schemes of help, i.e. Plan of Marshall, etc.. Have any idea how much interest the England is still paying on U.S. war and after-war help? While its ally, the USSR, was bleeding on the verge of defeat, what was this country doing until the USSR actually defeated the Europe? It was feverishly growing its military and economical advantage over the rest of the world. And in this way, you surely succeeded a lot. Don't forget to glance at such details as, for example, the destruction of peaceful Dresden, the intended capital of Eastern Germany. There are many, great many of them that shock imagination.... but not yours, of course, the "successful people".
