Don, I am considering a new desktop PC next year - even though the 400MHz eMachine still works Ok [except when Win98 crashes]. I thought of upgrading to WinXP and adding a CD-RW drive, but for $300-400 more I can get a 2GHz machine with all that included. My 600MHz laptop - recently upgraded with WinXP - will have to last till 2004, unless Mr Market smiles at me in 2003. Other news: Bernie Schaeffer won Business Week's contest to predict four indices for YE'02. He still likes this stock stockcharts.com Gottfried
