Still, even on your linked page, there is at least 2.8B in cash, cash equivalents, and short term investments (corporate bonds mainly). Why do you choose to base part of your argument on only 1/2 the actual cash on hand???

If I were evaluating my own cash position, I would include short term investments, say on the order of 3 to 12 months, especially with the influx of cash that QCOM is currently receiving.

You still neglect to account for the .9B in receivables and their real equity in real estate et al. These are honest to goodness cash or cash convertible assets that have been accumulated that make your point much weaker.

Or would you have QCOM only hold cash, earning what, about 2%? Sell their real estate in the Sorrento Valley, get out of higher yeilding treasuries and corp. bonds? You have to include these in your figures for arguments sake. I as an investor would be very upset if they held all their cash in money market funds, especially about $4B worth.
