Powell can be a voice of reason. I do not see how Ms. Murray's comments can be taken in the manner implied on this board. It is easier to see Lott's comments as supportive of segregation, and it is a big STRETCH to see them that way, imo. But Ms. Murray's comments are in no way supportive of Bin Laden. They are more along the lines of "even the devil does such and such good, maybe we should be doing that good as well..."

I had no idea Bin Laden was doing any good at all. The fact that he did tremendously bad things to us, does not mean he couldn't have done some good for someone else some WHERE else. To get angry about someone mentioning that seems illogical to me. I simply have never understood such an emotional response to seemingly neutral facts. If Hitler was kind to animals (which I believe he was) and established a foundation to help them (And I'm not aware that he did), one ought to be able to mention that, WITHOUT being thought of as a Hitler sympathizer.
