Let's hope we don't see this. Rises & falls of civilizations seem inevitable however
time frames are very difficult to forcast IMO.
What becomes important is rate of change/disruption.
A world in which the U.S. is not the dominant
political & economic power may be tolerable to those of us in the 'West' but it is
hard to imagine that military decline would not accompany this and
I believe the odds favor a chaotic outcome should
that become the case. In any event, an overvalued
and declining USD doesn't necessarily lead to
'The end of civilization as we know it' as some
would suggest.
