It is stupid because you do not agree with it. That is not really stupid, in any real sense, except possibly to you, and to people who think the way you do. I do accept that your perception is your reality. Truly I do. But your perception is not my reality.
Ms. Murray merely alluded to positive facts about Mr. Bin Laden. Whether these facts are true or not, is another issue. It appears that they may indeed be true, and Ms. Murray may have gone to some lengths to ascertain whether they were, or she may not. I cannot say. Ms. Murray alluded to these facts in order to propose that we, Americans, try to capture hearts and minds the way Bin Laden has. That seems sensible to me, and not unpatriotic in the least. Patriotism, real patriotism, should be practical and serve the interests of the country. IMO one of the best things about this country is its diversity. Ms. Murray serves that very well I think. So, for me, Ms. Murray is a great patriot.
I've no ideas about moral decay. Some people in every decade, in every century, need to go on about moral decay, just as a some number of people always seem to be thinking they are living in the last days. So far, it seems to me, life goes on. If you want to think Democrats own moral decay, that's your business. People are people. If you don't know their politics, you can't tell the difference, imo. Lovely people on both sides of the aisle, and a few rotten apples as well. That's just life. |
