He was a genius, for sure... I watched every show and I even went down to the studio where he produced some of his later shows, went back stage and heard him laughing as he watched the tape of the show he just did... he was a big deal in Miami Beach at the time with a boulevard still bearing his name... today there's a performing arts center with his name on it also... once I saw him dining at a fine Miami Beach restaurant when I was first dating my wife... I walked over to his table and acted as he and I were old friends...<g> I told him I was glad to catch him at the restaurant and that I wanted to introduce him to my girlfriend... somehow, Mr. Gleason knew I was putting her on, and he played along with me, acting like we were good friends, he was very gracious and offered that we join him at his table... I was very gutsy... she was so impressed... who knows, that may be why she eventually married me...<g> a true story... GZ
