Karen.. you're the one who cautioned all of us about "not pissing them off more" (the Saudis)...
All I was stating is that there is a demographic problem in the muslim world that is NOT going to go merely because you don't want to "piss them off"..
The only way it is going to be resolved is by creating a different political and economic atmosphere in the middle east, by force if necessary, so that the average young muslim will see the possibility to better their lives, rather than falling into despair and militancy (as they look for someone to blame for their problems).
The only other solution to fixing what's economically "broke" there, is to deflate the demographic bubble by absorbing their excess populations (much as we've been doing with Mexico)..
Europe is particularly worried about this since they already have large muslim populations. But having their heads in the sand, they seemingly don't recognize that without major changes in the region, these young adults will have no where to go for jobs.
So if you're worried about US jobs being safe and taking care of our own first, then you might consider just shutting down the US borders and keeping everyone out, except for tourists. Because they are coming Karen... They have no where else to really go..
And if they have no where else to go, they will be like wild animals trapped in a corner.. They will lash out at anything they perceive as being their antagonizer..
I honestly didn't realize that your perspective was so isolationist, essentially disagreeing with any foreign assistance to anyone, while Americans still go hungry...
So we can let those Afghanis starve now... Forget about the Africans living in starvation and sqalor because they have too many kids and don't use birth control..
Forget about all the people south of our US border who lack any economic future... Ignore their pleas to come across our borders to find work so they can feed their families...
Let 'em all starve, right Karen?? Just wrap ourselves up in our big, warm, "stars and stripes" comforter and act like the the rest of the world doesn't exist...
