From The Wall Street Journal NEW YORK -- U.S. financial markets will have altered hours this holiday week. Tomorrow, on Christmas Eve, the stock market will close early, at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and the bond market will close early, at 2 p.m. In the commodity markets, the New York Mercantile Exchange will close at 1 p.m., and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade and New York Cotton Exchange are closed, except for financial futures. On Wednesday, all markets are closed for Christmas Day. On Thursday, the stock market returns to normal hours, but the bond market will close early, at 2 p.m., and the Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange in New York will be closed. Similar early bond-market closings are planned for next week, before and after New Year's Day. The stock market won't close early on New Year's Eve.
