I try and obviate them to some degree by using multiple computers on different ISPs.

I suppose using DSL and Cable broadband services would be the best plan, since DSL providers will be using the same last mile infrastructure and will be homing into the same CO.

I just have a policy of closing out short term trades by phone if I lose a connection and can't dial in.
