My! Everyone I've talked to about this says LOFT-TTT is better than the first. We just saw it and I thought it was not quite as good. Gollum looked all rubbery and mess (though the guy playing him should get a dang Oscar hands down!) "Helm's Deep" was good, the guy playing Wormtongue as well. But the movie just lacked the "specialness" of the first. I hafta say though, I didn't really think even the first movie was that great until I had seen it about 3 times. Some folks are taking me again on Friday. I hadn't planned on going, but dang! Hearing you claim it was better than the first makes me wanna go see what I missed the first time.
