Ted Re..Huh? That's why Thursday AM, Mr. Lott said he was going to fight this because he had the backing of his colleagues and the President, and then the next AM tendered his resignation after it became clearer and clearer during the day Thursday, he did not have his colleagues' and the President's support.

Once again you have shown the ability to close your eyes to the obvious. GW made it clear early on that he didn't support Lott. Once again from Meet The Press yesterday.

Its clear that without the President's backing, Lott or anyone else who wanted to be Majority Leader wouldn't stand a chance. You claim it was clear from the get go that Bush wanted Lott out. Well, if it was clear, it was to everyone but Lott. Thursday AM he was still ready to fight to hold on to his position.......he gave every indication he had Bush's support. However, 24 hours later, he thru in the towel.

Someone put a screw in his back between Thurs and Friday AMs.......and it wasn't the Clintons as much as you would like to blame them.
