I have just read that over a million Chinese have bought cars last year, and they don't want to go back to bicycles. That leaves about 600 million more of their neighbors that will want one. Where is all of that fuel going to come from if they decide that they want to live a lifestyle like ours? At the end of the WWII the Germans were running on straight ethanol (..from corn, other grains or biowastes..), and there's no reason cars couldn't be running on ethanol right now (..or at least an 80/20 or 90/10 ethanol/gasoline mix..). It ain't rocket science; it's the manipulation by the world oil giants that has sidelined the technology - temporarily. There are new motive power technologies out there that will also solve the problem soon. John :-) .
