We pushed Japan and they flipped out.

Actually, those were only the first of various sanctions the US used against Japan.. They had been going on in one form or another since 1937. But still Japan continued to pursue their aggression under the guise of "anti-communism"....

I would perceive it as more a case of Japan "pushing" the world, and not knowing when to quit...

As for the N. Korean government, they might be unwilling to face the "shame" of having to back down, but maybe they should have thought of that before trying to shame the US by defying the agreement they signed in 1994...

What about the shame we bear due to their deception and lies??
