getting reeeeeaaaalllly pissed off

Hey P.O.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on the fundamental nature of demographics. However, no matter what the reason, we agree that we are still early in a secular bear market for stocks, and a secular bull market for gold. At this point, what's yet to be determined is the severity of these inverse markets. That's where Polvie's et al politics comes in. An enlightened Washington administration cannot control or stop the effects of a secular bear, but they can mitigate those effects. Lately enlightenment (IMO) has been in short supply in Washington. I offer as evidence for this, the proposal for a MacArthur like occupation of Iraq subsequent to the taking of Baghdad. Anyone with a modicum of knowledge of Islam, is appalled at the level of hubris induced ignorance behind such a proposal. Yet no alternative has been offered for what occurs subsequent to a "victory" in Iraq.

Since you're way long gold, you have a vested interest in Washington stupidity. It could be argued that at least some of the force behind the current gold move stems from the increased volume of the war drums. The magnitude of gold's continued rise is intimately connected to the degree of ill-advised political policies.

What I'm telling you is there is a gold lined synergistic interaction between your views and those of Polvie's. Not to see that is to miss an opportunity to profit. Rather than "go ballistic" at what you consider political drivel, view it as the first rumblings of a political volcano whose eventual eruption will lift gold to the stratosphere.
