<Mr Sun said the company had been in talks with handset producers in Japan and Korea about new products since the CDMA service was widely used in those countries.

At the same time, he said, handset and service prices were being reviewed in order to ensure good value for money.

Mr Sun said that while handset prices were falling, Hutchison's price strategy would be to provide a range of affordable services to users.

The company is a joint venture between the Communications Authority of Thailand and Hong Kong-based Hutchison Wireless MultiMedia Holding.

Mr Sun should have been in charge of Globalstar. It's unusual to see a telecom person understand that subscribers want value for money and that a monopoly doesn't force them to buy something which doesn't give them enough reward to justify the cost.

Thanks for spending your days installing CDMA. That's quite a turnaround from when you didn't think CDMA would be built out. It's like a Black Hole = everyone on earth is within the event horizon and will be sucked into the cdma2000 core.

There's a tendency to think that life inside a black hole is bad. Not at all. The whole universe is one big black hole from which nothing escapes and life seems to be fine inside it.

PS: Xmas morning here. It's a beautiful day. All are asleep still, except for one person = me. There will be a LOT of cdma2000 phones under Xmas trees today. 2003 will be a big year for CDMA. If Mr Sun brings the beautiful harmonies of cdma2000 phragmented photons to the people of Bangkok and gives them a large consumer surplus [value for money], that will help make 2003 an excellent year. It's the year of the sheep and flocks of sheeple will be herding into the CDMA stores.
