Jay, unwittingly and instinctively, China is adopting Xmas which is really some symbolism of the idea that humans are a single family rather than competing territorial tribes. It's part of the WTO concept and Mike Moore [the now ex-boss of the WTO] does have a Santa Claus chubbiness and cheerful demeanour.

Since China provided all [or nearly all] of the things I've bought in the last couple of days, they obviously have got into the swing of it very quickly once the Maoist muck was ditched.

See how stealth and bribery is better than bombs and threats: <Thus, while China's authorities continue to launch police campaigns against religious groups that are not officially approved and keep a close eye on those that are, Santa is no longer on their black list. "Religion? No, that's got nothing to do with Christmas. It's about having a good time with your friends," >

They are only just getting cdma2000 unleashed on them now, so they are well and truly inside the event horizon. Korea and Iraq can be the same. Russia is in the process of being drawn in too.

It's a wonderful world,
Mqurice
