Are you sure about that Mitch? I believe computers are the #1 application segment for silicon IC's by far. I can't quickly find current data but this was the case in 1997:

Computer 50.6%
Communications 17.7%
Consumer 16.2%
Industrial 9.2%
Automotive 5.3%
Gov't/Military 1.0%

I'm sure Computer is a lower percentage now but it surely must still be the primary driver of the silicon IC business.
