The VA's budget is determined by Congress. If the system providing for senators was under the same constraints, it would be leaner as well.

Congress constrains the VA, so who constrains the Congressional health care system? I'm guessing it's that very same Congress.

Putting parentheses around government health care does not change my argument that fairness does not exist. And it is simply because Congress has chosen better care for themselves than for others. Surely you would not trust these critters with your dough to make health care accommodations for you! Plainly you would fall into the social security trap of promises, and enslave your children.

I don't believe we suffered much growing up without health insurance up through the '60's. I've made a personal choice to forgo dental insurance. Health care is still a consumable service. Making it an entitlement has not generally improved it.
