** OT ** It's spelt Tyee.

Traditionally, a Tyee is a 40 pound chinook caught from a wooden boat without a motor. In the old days, you could go to Campbell River and do the Tyee thing in August with some expectation of success.

A large salmon is a magnificent beast. My son is an avid fisherman and fresh salmon on the barby is a wondrous dish.
