My recommendations are:

Canon Elura 200MC
Canon Elura 40MC

I own and really like my Canon Elura 100MC.
The above cameras do great video, fair stills
and can record MPEG movies direct to a flash card.

Do you have one of those Apple display stores near your home?
They have several models out to touch and feel.
