George, Kudlow is one of my favorite punching bags. In all honesty, of his three careers, I think the political ranks first, broadcasting second and economics third. He is pushing Surprise Side Economics even after it was a huge failure the first time it was foisted on America. We were lucky that time, as we elected a grownup named George Bush who took his medicine and fixed many of the excesses. Unfortunately, this time around, no grownup looms on either the Republican or the Democratic side, even though we have a guy with the same name in The White House.

To be fair, I worry more about the military goofiness than the economic flapdoodle. A conservative commentator, Bob Novak, is opposed to an Iraq War and I remember a comment he made during the first such engagement: "War isn't like playing beanbag." When people get killed, on either side, they pretty much stay that way. I truly hope we have convincing evidence that Saddam is a major threat to American interests. Nobody has presented any such evidence, so far. He's a pretty nasty character and the world would be better off in his absence. But if that were the case, I know several Hollywood actors who should have war declared on them. <g>
