well, besides the fact that the old camera is a 2 megapixel, and slow to start...and slow between shots, the camedia software has always been a disappointment for her.
Very confused and disappointed with the practically undeciferable manual, which I understand is still the case with Olympus...and just kind of a disappointing experience on the whole, but my wife has muddled thru and done a wonderful job, and takes some awesome shots with the D-490. We're both very dubious still about the whole olympus experience.
I must admit that our current p/c is a dinosaur, and we've just totally updated all our systems, including the addition of the imac, so we're really looking forward to having some operating systems that are up to speed....
It just seems like the Canon would be the natural choice since it's software is OS X native. Shot to shot speed is faster, and so is boot up speed which we really like....plus the Canon seems notorius for great easy to understand text manuals.
Like you say tho, the thing to do is try both. Great advice... for now my website is just a page of text as I'm still in the final stages of development, it seems like forever, but this is another step in the process of establishing an interactive web presence for future clients, friends and other interested folks.
Thxs agn for the thoughts...very much appreciated.
Very Best,
