John, I can't wait to see pictures from your new camera, because it's clear from the piece of metal work that you're an artist. I think you'd be happy with any of the upper end cameras. They each have their strengths - Olympus has the brightest lenses, Canon is the most user friendly, Sony has the amazing Carl Zeiss zoom, and Nikon offers total manual control and legendary glass. I won't go into the weaknesses except to say there are none that can't be worked around.
