Well, here we are at the end of 2002, and Ivanhoe is apparently on the verge of the largest copper/gold discovery in the history of Asia. The results coming out of their Mongolia discoveries are nothing short of phenomenal.

The problem I see is their 230 million shares outstanding. They have raised around US $60 million just to do all the drilling and assaying on those properties. They are going to have to verify something like 25 billion pounds of copper and 30 million ounces of gold just to raise interest of a buyer to make things worthwhile for the non-IVN shareholders.

I see that IVN is now on James Dines recommendation list, which is somewhat noteworthy. This stock DEFINITELY needs some more exposure to some heavy hitters.

2003 should be quite interesting for this stock.
